The Heart Requires Regular Exercise

The main risk factor for heart disease is an inactive life. Aerobic exercise done on a regular basis has several benefits.  It can lead the way for a hale and hearty life. It greatly trims down the likelihood of key cardiac diseases.

The benefits of doing exercise regularly can be summed up as under:
·         makes the blood vessels and heart stronger
·         Improvement in blood circulation that leads to improved oxygen consumption
·         Helps in lowering blood pressure
·         increases good cholesterol and reduces bad cholesterol and body
·         Reduces depression, tension, anxiety and stress
·         builds you rested and relaxed
·         helps get better sleep
·         Makes you fit and healthy and fit

Exercises are of three types. They are strengthening exercises, aerobic or cardiovascular exercises and slow lengthening or stretching of muscles. For our heart, aerobic exercise is very beneficial. It improves breathing and blood pressure conditions and reduces your heart rate. For persons treated for heart failure and for those whose heart is weak, strengthening exercises are not good.

Water sports, swimming, cycling, jumping rope, running, jogging and walking are all good aerobic exercises. For utmost benefit, work on a session of aerobic exercise lasting thirty minutes daily.  Whichever exercise you do, it is better to do it regularly. Every session should comprise preparation, training and calm down.  The preparation part reduces stress on the body and heart.  The most important benefits are in the training stage where calories burn.

Never exceed; pay attention to your heart. In no way exceed your heart rate. The calm down stage relaxes you after the training stage. Your blood pressure and heart rate comes back to normal. Calm down doesn’t mean idling, but do mild stretches for rest. Shun exercise three hours after a meal. Be regular and exercise prior to meals, either evenings or mornings.
