In the use of E-mail, Gmail account is in the first place. Those who do not use the email facility frequently also have a Gmail account. A new feature for Gmail account is now available on the site. It is known as 'Last account activity'. If you activate this facility then a list of people who approached and saw your Gmail account last is shown on the site. Whether your Gmail account is seen through the computer browser or BOP mail client or through mobile phone, the facility lists the same.
It also shows the IP address from which it is accessed. If your Gmail account is accessed from an unusual IP address, this facility indicates the same through a warning signal. The day and time of access is also available on the list. To see this information, you have to click on the “details” near “last account activity” at the bottom of your Gmail account.
As soon as you click on the tab “details”, you will get a list containing the information. In this list on “access type” details as to how (browser, mobile or BOP client) your Gmail account is accessed is shown. In this list, if you find anything which you normally do not use then you can assume that your account details like username and password has been stolen by someone. For example, you may not normally browse the Internet via mobile phone.
But still if the list shows that your account has been accessed via mobile phone then you can understand that your account details has been stolen.
In turn, under the title “Location (IP address)”, ten IP addresses that accessed your Gmail account are provided. In this suspicious IP addresses are shown with a warning signal. If any such suspicious IP addresses are shown then it is better to change your Gmail account password immediately.
